By the mid-1950s, when he designed this Highand Park house, Samuel Marx had made his name synonymous with elegant, stylish designs. 
Debuting at the Century of Progess Wold's Fair in 1933, the sleek interiors of his all-alluminum railroad cars gave the Pullman company a dazzling new loo. Then in 1938, Marx's swanky design for the Pump Room helped make it a fabeled mid-dontinent stop for Frank Sinatra, Marilyn Monroe and other celebrities.
